I am in the middle of my new Carve King build and I am starting out with the VFD/Spindle upgrade per Aforww's video and post.
I am to the point to install the VFD and spindle and was wondering if anyone else has installed this configuration.
If so I was wondering what settings did you end up with on the VFD, the wiring of the on/off and speed control boards.
Also anything else I should be aware of to get this going.
Any insight would be helpful.
Thanks, Martin

Just got done installing a Chinese VFD and spindle myself. I can't personally help you with the Teco VFD settings but I have it all basically working at this point.
I assume you want to set it up to be GCode controlled and I also assume you are using the stock CK electronics. The way I ended up having to set it up was go through the GRBL 1.1f firmware and I had to enable "#define USE_SPINDLE_DIR_AS_ENABLE_PIN" on line 360 of config.h. I believe this also makes the Z + limit switch to the CNC shield's "Spindle Enable" pinout. The 0-5v PWM signal then comes through the Z+ limit switch pins and goes into the VFD as a 0-5v speed reference. I also had to add a capacitor to the VFD side of the two wires I just mentioned for the speed reference to calm down the frequency from flying all over the place. Right now I'm currently working on shielding all of my spindle related and stepper motor wires in hopes that it clears up an issue I'm having where the Z axis loses its position and ends up cutting to deep/too high.
