I finally had time to test my power route. I created the test project in v carve. I wanted different kinds of cuts and some tool changes for the test. I think it came out pretty good. The letters on the "Retired" are not perfect because I did not tighten the clamps enough that the stock started shifting when the v carving started. I should have paused the program when I first saw it shift but I forgot about pausing while I was frantically looking for my allen wrench to tighten the clamps. I was able to tighten the clamps before it started the "U" on the US NAVY. Overall, a very satisfying test especially for this first time cncer. Lots of things to learn but excited to do more. I can't get the z probe alignment to work even after following ugs probe tutorial. I used the paper method to zero my z.

Nice work bud. If that was your first test then you have a great CNC experience ahead of you.
What are you experiencing on the probe? I have had one customer report a problem on the probe and I determined that his probe leads needed to get switched on the breakout board due to a mess up on our end. It’s a really simple fix though (around 5 minutes tops) if it is that. What command are you issuing and what is the behavior?

Impressive first project! Are you sure this is your first machine? Which software are you using?

The bit does not move at all when I click on the Initiate Probe button. I don't know how to do it otherwise.

Impressive first project! Are you sure this is your first machine? Which software are you using? Thanks! Definitely my first machine. I was a little apprehensive that I went over my head when I pre-ordered it, but now I am glad I did. I am using v carve and UGS platform.

I suspect that we goofed on the wires as one side will be pulled up to 5V on the board and the other is at ground. The control board is monitoring to see when it gets brought to ground. The machine is often at ground potential. The solution is to switch the probe wires on the breakout board. Here's a vid of how to do it.

The video says its unavailable. I tried copying the url but it just shows an exclamation point on a black screen. Anyway, I went and tried it again maybe just an operator error on my part but it still won't work. I get this screen.

I will work on the video and see what’s going on with its availability. Based on the error you received I’m sure what the video describes will fix it.
