Carve king
So Im in ugs getting things setup and when I click jog 1mm on any of my axis, they all move roughly 10mm-15mm. Also when I go to do my homing( having homing switch kit) my router goes up , my router goes over the the side but the axis with both steppers on it does not move at all. This axis will move when jogged but not when told to go to the homing switches. Also Unless im right up buy the homing switches on the axis's that do move they time out saying I need to increase my allowed homing distance. Sorry for so many questions. Ive never used anything like this and am a bit lost :/ any input is appreciated
Rob

Hey Rob. I think I can help you. The homing issues are secondary to steps/mm issues. Once one gets resolved the other probably will too.
It sounds to me like either the jumpers aren't in place correctly, some settings are off, or the microstepping capability of the stepper drivers has been messed up (this usually happens if the power supply ever gets plugged right into the blue uno board).
Can you confirm that the jumpers are placed in the vertical position at M0 and M1 underneath the purple stepper drivers? Can you let me see the settings on the board by typing $$ in the command line and pressing enter please? This will provide a list that you can copy or paste here or upload a screenshot.
We'll get it resolved with ya.

Alright, So I diddnt put the jumpers on the m0 and m1 positions, x and y seem to be 1mm or very very close. z seems to be 1.5 ish mm. Here is a screenshot of my settings using the $$ command imgur.com/a/OzEJMnK

Settings look good. The Z should also be moving 1mm, it can just be difficult to measure. The best way to check this is to move a larger distance that is more easily measurable, like 20mm.

Alright so I have all axis moving within 1mm at 100mm movements, Dont have a super accurate way of measuring. How do I go about getting use out of my homing switches ?

Okay sounds like it alright then.
There’s a video linked in the general forum’s video tutorial sticky that explains homing switches. It’s about 25 or 30 minutes long but it is worth watching a couple of times.
