I put a coupler onto a stepper motor (short cable) shaft and tightened the set screw and the coupler still slides right off. I tried a second coupler and it slides right off too. Not sure what to do.

Hey. The video isn’t showing.
I’ve not seen this experienced before. Which machine are you working with? Do those same couplers fit onto another stepper shaft?

Sorry, try it now. I had the security set to Private instead of Unlisted.

Hey. That's very odd. I pulled a couple from out recent batches just to make sure all seemed good and they checked out. Did the other two couplers go on okay?

I tried this one on a few steppers. Other couplers worked on the steppers, this coupler failed on all steppers.

Derek, I used some vice-grips to push the coupler sides closer together and now the set screw seems to be holding on the shaft. Going to push on, will let you know if I smell smoke.

I got the exact same issue with the coupler that I started with. It didn't tighten on the shaft. I got the shipment in June too and have just started assembling.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I also had this issue. I found a burr in the coupling keeping it from closing completely. Just cleaned it out with an x-acto knife and was good to go.
