I've pulled the trigger on the Carve King! I just couldn't find any reason to go with more expensive competitors and decided although not needed now the extra space over the M3 will be useful in the future. Now my immediate need is milling plastics specifically acrylic. As far as tool selection goes I'm completely lost. Could anyone give me some pointers? I'd really appreciate it if someone with experience with acrylics could look at a project of mine and suggest the bits needed to achieve similar results to the picture below. It's roughly 2"x4"x1/8". v groves in pattern are .5mm deep

O flute end mills do well in plastics for contouring and pocketing. Our two flutes general purpose end mills cut plastic well also. You’ll want to do that diamond pattern with a ball nose mill.
Nice choice on the CK by the way.

Congrats on the CK! You won't regret it. I'm also interested on any insights people can share on milling acrylic.
