I am about to start building my Power Route stand. I plan on 4x4 legs and 2x4 construction with a 3/4" ACX plywood top. Does this sound adequate? I also plan on having it mounted on lockable casters. Do you feel this would be rigid enough for the Power Route?

My suggestion would be to think about how sturdy it needs to be then make it sturdier. That gantry is pretty heavy and it throws itself around at pretty quick accelerations. I've had it shake what I thought was a good table.

Here is my setup. 4X4 legs + 2x6 cross members and gussets. All crewed and glues together and it still shakes during use. Recently discovered my source of intermittent stops during use. The usb cable (not tied down) would break the connection during use and stop the job. I wedged some plastic things in the electronics enclosure where the cable enters. OK so far. Lock EVERYTHING down.

Glad you figured that one out. I would have never guessed it.

Oh my. Now I'm thinking no casters, and bolt my workbench to the wall (and maybe the floor?)
Does anyone have any pictures of their stand that they could share? I was going to start building today.

I made my stand from steel I have 6 1/4" think 2 1/2" square tubing for legs and cross braces with a sheet of 3/8" plate steel as the top all welded together. I have leveling casters on mine, but it is also around 1000 pounds by itself.

I think bolting the table to the wall would help. While a rocking table isn’t ideal, I’ve had a wooden work table develop a rock after dragging it around a bunch.. The machine still cut accurately with the table it was on rocking, for what it’s worth. Who wants a nice machine on a shoddy workbench though? I do think you will be okay with the casters though, so long as the table structure itself is sturdy.

I have mine on a set of casters that I can pop out of the way, so the table just sits. I've forgotten to drop the table several times, but the wiggling around doesn't seem to cause me any accuracy problems, because the machine wiggles as a solid unit. Physics!

I have decided to build retractable casters, thanks for the idea. Found lots of great DIY designs on the internet.
