Hi,
When I try to home my machine I get the following Error messages:
Error while processing response: An unexpected command was completed by the controller
(ALARM:9) Homing Fail. Could not find limit switch within search distances. Try increasing max travel
The machine does not move at all before I get these error messages.
Also, I can move in X and Y but not in Z. When I jog Z the UGS controller state (DRO) shows the movement but the machine does not move.
If I trigger the Z switch with my hand the UGS does register it as a hard limit.
I also tried UGS from 2 different computers and got the same results so I don't think the error is in UGS or my laptop.
It had been working fine.
Any help much appreciated!

What might have changed from working to not? Apparently some settings have gotten rewritten because hard limits aren’t enabled by default. Can you type $$ in the command line and press enter then copy and paste the settings here.

Can you type $$ in the command line and press enter then copy and paste the settings here. It did occur after an emergency stop in the middle of running some g-code. The only settings I changed in UGS(as far as I know) is changing the units to inches and then back to mm. Other than that I was just cutting some simple parts to learn the UGS interface since I'm used to Mach3 - like trying to set up different work offsets and learning to use the $ commands in UGS. This is what I get after $$. Thanks for taking a look! >>> $$ $0=10 $1=255 $2=0 $3=3 $4=0 $5=0 $6=0 $10=1 $11=0.010 $12=0.002 $13=0 $20=0 $21=1 $22=1 $23=0 $24=35.000 $25=800.000 $26=200 $27=4.000 $30=12000 $31=0 $32=1 $100=100.000 $101=100.000 $102=200.000 $110=10500.000 $111=9525.000 $112=2200.000 $120=600.000 $121=600.000 $122=200.000 $130=632.000 $131=626.000 $132=128.000 ok

The machine is working now! Seems to have healed itself. Not sure but maybe it was an electrical interference issue.

Btw, if this is a Power Route the hard limits are enabled by default. Didn’t realize it was.
