I was just facing and the PR just stopped mid cut. I thought it was somehow a program issue but turns out UGS isnt connecting to the machine anymore. It states that its connected to COM 1 11500 (whatever) baud rate but there is zero connection to the machine. No homing feature etc. I have tried restarting the comp0uter, software, control box etc and I havent had any luck regaining connection. What are some other things I can try to get this thing back up and running?

Ive tried a different version of UGS, replugged everything in...still nothing. The PR and UGS are not talking to each other.
edit: When I turn on the control box, I usually hear a clunking noise, Im assuming its due to all the servos getting power and going live, I only hear it now from what seems like the Z axis. I think X and Y are not engaging from the control box itself. edit: Also, this machine only has about 30hrs on it, so I highly doubt it would be wear and tear.

Are there any lights on the drivers?
What happens if you unplug the switches and motors and then try to establish a connection?
I’d like to try two things beyond that: Let’s try another cable if ypu have one laying about (they are common printer cables). There’s a very small chance it’s a bummed out cable.
Let’s attenpt a reflash if the board in case it dumped its firmware. I’ll get you the firmware in the morning.

Yes, all three have green lights in the control box. Nothing new happens when I unplug and replug them back in. I dont have another cable :/ but Ill go ahead and order one on Amazon though. Really weird though.

Weird indeed. I'll work it to a solution with you though. Let's try to reflash the firmware in case it lost it. Here's the firmware. grblUpload.ino.standard.hex (83.83 KB) The can be loaded with XLoader, found here: russemotto.com/xloader/XLoader.zipThe hex file should be what I attached. Device should be Uno(ATMege328) COM Port is usually whatever comes up in the drop down after you plug in the device. Baud rate is 115200. Click upload and see what you get.

Got it up and running. I do not know if it lost the firmware, but I know for a fact that the COM port somehow changed. When I was trying to upload the firmware nothing was happening when I wanted to use the port I was using before, so I kept plugging and unplugging the serial port to see which COM was showing or not showing. Once I got the right port, the firmware loaded and I also had to change the COM port in UGS. All seems good now, I appreciate the help.

Cool. I suppose it can reassign COM ports for some reason but I don’t normally see that. Glad all is well though.
