Hey, Hi and Hello! So it occurred to me that for all of my issues up until now, I never asked the one question that I have been meaning to ask. Question: When getting ready to put router to wood, how do you tell the machine what the start point is so as not to go beyond the limits of the axis? Is it the same as the setup from the quick start where you jog the machine to the lower left corner of the project? Thanks! With this, I should have my first cut completed and displayed (pictures posted here as well) very soon!

There are two coordinate systems. One for the Machine Coordinate (max work area) then you have the work piece or Work Coordinate which is the size of the material you are gong to mill. Once you home the machine it knows where it is in the Machine Coordinate space. Then you clamp down your work material and zero the XYZ (usually in the lower left top corner). You have your Work Coordinates completed.

Derek has a video with more information:
Homing, Homing Diagnostics, Work Coordinate System Setup and Selection, Machine Coordinates, G92, G28, and G30 (semi-advanced) Thanks for sharing that as I ran into a mysterious problem today and Derek covers this warning us to pay close attention to it its the (around 5:03 time) G91 G28 Z0 line. For starters... HSM express has it backwards, this is what it does: % (Some Comment) G90 G94 G17 G20 G28 G91 Z0 G90 Notice it is G28 G91 Z0, and so everyday I've tested until today... just doing $h and then running the gcode always worked properly. Today however, something went wrong and this did not go to the right place. The newer version of UGS has ability to reset the software so I reset everything and got it working again. Until I can figure out what I did to make this line fail (Note: I have never used 28.1... I assumed $h addresses this)... I'm going to verify this line manually to ensure its correct. Any ideas or insight to why it failed please share... thanks.

I'm not familiar with HSM Express. Have you tried using Fusion 360?
