I've read good reviews and my needs are fairly light sanding of 6" and 9" baltic birch plywood parts. Just knocking off the fuzzies from being cut out and some pocketing. Do any of you guys have experience with this model? Thanks! WEN 6502 Bench Sander link

I have a Ryobi I bought at Home Depot for $120 that looks almost identical. Been happy with it. Attachments:

I've been looking at a similar unit at Harbor Freight, but I went to the store and it doesn't look like it's all that well made. Same WEN sander at Home Depot is $123 WEN Sander at Home Depot You may be able to take a closer look at one there.

The Ryobi and the WEN appear to be the same except for colors. The WEN on Amazon has very high ratings and lots of them, and at $85 I might just have to get it. One of the guys in the reviews section for the WEN on Amazon posted photos of a little platform he built for the rotating wheel to replace what he said is the one shortcoming of the unit, which was a flimsy platform. Looks easy enough to add to it and again, $85 and lots of good reviews!

I have only used it for sanding wood items that are not very large or heavy though.
