Anyone have any experience or played around with Autodesk's ArtCAM 2017? I just downloaded the trial version and followed the first tutorial or two. Dang, it seems to be awesome (albeit expensive). It's kind of like a CAD/CAM package, except for wood workers, and artists (think fusion 360, but for art and not machine parts). Haven't gotten into the CAM part of it yet, or the creating reliefs, but drawing/designing vectors for milling is pretty intuitive.

I haven't gotten into it but I'm on the verge of it. You can get it for $360/yr or $45 a month I think. It's very very powerful. I look forward to seeing what you do with the trial.

I won't get it just because I'm sick of these companies and subscription based services. I'm sensitive on that whole scheme lol.

EVERYTHING is going subscription based now. It makes me sick. You can get MS Office for $8 a month, $10 for Netflix, blah blah blah. They are going to subscription people to death. J

As long as people keep throwing their money away, companies will keep doing it. I am ok with stuff like Netflix that is a constantly changing offering. But for a program that will only receive minor bug fixes and updates? It's not like they are adding a ton of new features every month. It's absurd. It does look like a cool program, though. Shame I'll never know how well it works lol.
