Hello. I'm a software engineer by day and garage tinkerer by night. My garage projects recently have gotten more and more complicated with fitment and shapes. That's what drew me to CNC and this board/platform/company/product whatever way you look at it.
I'm a newbie to this. In my world so far, computers and cutting tools have been separate. One has been an outlet to escape the other. This blurs that line a little bit.
I recently got my M3 up and running. Here's my first run without spindle. I had the bed installed backwards and home was in the wrong direction for both the stepper and switch. Don't shoot me.
I hope to share what I do with this community in the future.
Cheers!

Not my limitations are only that of actually being able to design the part. Good luck! It's a great group here, always willing to help out. Don't forget to post your projects in the forum! Jason

Good to see you here and thanks for posting the video. I think you will find that this is a ton of fun. As mrbigj mentioned there will be a learning curve with designing stuff and figuring out the workflow, but eventually it becomes second nature. As you can tell there's usually someone around here to help in pretty short order.

I haven't completely developed my process for milling yet, and the other night I went to start a project. I brought my bit to the lower left corner of the machine, and sent the file. Completely forgot to do the "G92 X0 Y0 Z0" before hand. The machine went off and did exactly what I told it to do, not what I intended it to do, LOL. I caught it almost right away and was able to salvage it. But for about five seconds I was really confused. I had made several successful cuts previously, and just could not imagine what the machine thought it was doing. Then I realized what I had forgotten It's almost always user error, LOL... J
