So we have mentioned before a few things that are being worked on. Here's a little bit of an update:
Spindles: A lot of people wanted an all in one solution so we now have 400w spindles, mounts, power supplies, and speed controller in the store.
Lasers: I still need to put an order in for safety glasses and then they will be about ready to list for sale. The laser setup is working well. I engraved a picture with it last night, which was very cool. I took a picture on the computer, ran it through Pic Laser, and it burned a grayscale image into mdf by varying the intensity of the laser as it went along. Its really just a matter of making things a little more approachable right now. The control software that we run (Grbl) can receive g code instructions and set intensity on the laser, but by default it inserts a small dwell as it makes that change. There is a version out there written for lasers that does not do this, but it also gets rid of arcs which you need for general milling. It is about a 45 second ordeal to switch between firmware versions to go from laser to milling and vice versa, but I want to see if we can eliminate the need to do that.
Tutorials: We were scheduled to put out something for MakerCAM but I decided to delay that as we work hard at some other tasks. That is still planned, but we dont have an exact timeline on it.

I'm excited to get them up for sale. There is a LOT going on right now but I did get the glasses ordered today. One step closer.

Well, if you all put the thought into the laser that you did this kit then it's a pretty safe bet it will be a lot of bang for the buck. Keep it up!

Hey,
I was wondering if there was a tutorial on how to install the spindle correctly? Since I just bought your full kit including the spindle. There seems to be no instructions in the box itself and no tutorials on your resources page?

There wasn't a set of printed instructions in the box with the spindle? If not, I'm sorry. I'll email you the instructions later today.

I have attached the spindle setup instructions.
Also, setcon, just curious. Your email indicates that you might be in the UK. Did you buy from us direct or through a distributor?
Thanks

And also no there was no document in the box itself. We just include an orientation document that points you to wwww.millrightcnc.com/resources where the assembly instructions are. We do this to keep prices low. Printing thousands of color copies really tallies up after a while. This way you can view it as a pdf on the computer and print it if you wish.

The full assembly is understandable its 36 pages. Please note there is nothing to do with the router/spindle assembly in the full assembly found on the resources page and a simple search function on the page will prove it. I followed the full assembly to the tee and that is all that was missing. Also on the resources page there is no link to "Spindle setup instructions v1p01.pdf (458.61 KB)".
