Needing some help with my carve king. i got it put together and started practicing movement with UGS on my computer. I noticed when i tried to move my z axis up sometimes it slips and doesnt move. i assessed the problem and tried first checking the backlash nut to make sure if maybe it wasn't to loose or tight. Checked out OK. Next i decided to check the coupler to make sure it was tight enough so it wouldn't slip. checked out ok also. and last i checked all wheels to make sure they turned by hand and wasnt to tight. Once i assembled it together again i tried movement while watching and noticed the motor doesn't turn as if the gears are slipping.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated as to i don't know what else to do and i don't wanna run it and make thing worse.
Also first time posting, sorry if formatting may be off.

yes i double checked it. when i run z axis+ jog i watch and can hear the motor running but not moving the router up. and it actually drops down a few mm when running as if its losing contact with gears inside.

If the coupler is tight to the screw and to the motor it won't free spin. It could stall, but you would hear the noise if the stall.

Can you turn the lead screw when power is applied to the stepper motor? The holding torque of the motor should hold the lead screw in place when trying to turn the lead screw with your fingers. Maybe double check the voltage setting on the stepper motor drivers.

Sorry for the delay in response. It occurred again today. I took the z axis gantry off and turned the lead screw and its skipping in the backlash nut. I noticed when i tighten the z motor plate onto the gantry it puts a lot of pressure on the bottom guide plastic piece.theres maybe a couple millimeters of space before tighten which adds pressure on the lead screw.
Also no play when motor is on.

It shouldn't put pressure on the lead screw. The instructions call for pulling the Z down against the plate to seat it against the UHMW piece on the screw before setting the Z motor mount and Z motor on there. Also, I'm not sure what you mean that it's skipping in the antibacklash nut. That couldn't happen unless all the threads were ripping out of the antibacklash nut.
