Hi folks. Total noob at this so hoping to get some help. I downloaded UGS 2.0 Platform (Nightly build) and installed Java 8 (JavaSetup8u211). I was able to open UGS once but now, every time I try to open "ugsplatform", I see the Universal G-Code Sender splash screen and the word "initializing" but nothing happens. I tried deleting the "ugsplatform" folder and unzipping, still could not get it to run. Advice?

Sounds like there is an issue with the installation of Java 8 possibly? Check if it was installed and running correctly.

Also, assuming you are running Windows, try both the 64-bit ugsplatform executable and the 32-bit one. The 64-bit one won't run on my Win10 laptop for some reason, but the other does. Maybe it has something to do with which Java version (32 or 64-bit) is installed.

I'm on a Win10 64-bit. I tried uninstalling using the Java uninstall tool and then reinstalling Java install file "jre-8u211-windows-x64" so the current version on my machine is "Java 8 Update 211 - build 1.8.0_211-b12". Still could not get "ugsplatform.exe" to load completely. When tried to run "ugsplatform64.exe", I get the same result. Universal G-Code Sender splash window pops up, "Initializing" at the bottom left shows, and then nothing after the splash window goes away. I am able to load UGS 1.0.9 Classic though. So it seems something is not allowing or blocking the 2.0 Platform to load. So weird.

I've deleted the "ugsplatform" folder, uninstalled java, deleted the "Java" folder in (localdisk/programfiles), scrubbed the window registry, and restarted my machine. Then I downloaded the "ugsplatform-2.0.0-stable3" file again, reinstalled Java, unzipped the "ugsplatform-2.0.0-stable3", and still will not load.

i've ran into the exact same issue and have been trying to get it running the same way you did. Uninstall reinstall restart repeatedly.
Finally, i changed the graphics card and it finally opens.
Right click the UGSPlatform click run with graphics processor click the one that doesn't say default

Same thing here. I haven't had much time recently to work with my machine and when I last used it everything was running perfect. The something happened with my laptop the other day which seemed to wipe out a lot of files and programs, including UGS and V-carve Pro. Therefore I turned off the firewall reloaded the V-carve software without issue and am now attempting to reload the UGS software. I've gone through the steps one by one with no luck. I even went as far as to delete it all, including Java, redownloaded everything and still nothing. When I plug the machine in I hear the auditable tone that the computer recognizes something has been attached but nothing comes up on the screen. I go to the search bar and type in UGS, which is there, I attempt to open the program/file and nothing. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
