Here are some celtic knots done in purple heart. http://instagram.com/p/BS4bGWnlDMH The design was from Vecteezy. It's a good place for free vectors but much of the stuff there isn't designed with CNC in mind. Settings: Pocket op done with a 1/8" end mill at 71 IPM with a 0.08" depth of cut. Initially I forgot to set the desired step over and had almost full diameter cuts running. I stopped it and re-did the CAM to the step over about .08". I should have taken a hair more off since I had already pocketed with such a big step over in order to clean the bottom some, but I let it ride. Contour op done with a 3/16" end mill at 0.04" DOC feeding at 80 IPM. DWP611 on about 2 The pocket op settings in particular were aggressive. Purpleheart is a pretty tough and dense wood. A .04" step down would have been more appropriate. I was pretty happy with the contour op settings.

Thanks. It's always fun to work in nice woods.
