I'm looking for any example pictures or tips on installing the dust boot on the Mega-V. I've got the yellow clamp on the router body. The main part of the boot attaches magnetically. Though it still feels kind of wiggly.
Maybe this is the way it is, or maybe I'm doing it wrong. Let me know.

There is a screw to tighten down in the upper section onto the router body. That's it, once you attached the lower brush half to the upper half with the magnets. Connect a vacuum hose and you are set.

Thank you Bruce. I've had it mounted as you say. I attached pictures this time, just to verify I don't have it wrong. I find the shoe parts can slide easily from side to side. Is it suppose to be like this? There are two holes on the yellow part, I'm not understanding what those are for. Attachments:

It would be nice to know how to resolve the sliding problem too, I suspect if we zip-tie the vacuum hose to the router that may be the fix. I should add one of the magnets was loose from the bottom half, does that have to be re-glued onto the bottom half?

Ok this machine screw is #10-24 1.5" length, and socket head. Typically at the store (e.g. Lowes) they sell them with Phillip's head, and we bought some #10 washers for a more distributed load against the clamp.

The screw does not fit, is it really a #8, or are we suppose to force it in? Any ideas will be appreciated, since this looks to be a steel part I'm not sure how to tap it.

We'll probably need to tap it: www.mcmaster.com/tapping-tools/taps-for-hardened-steel-and-iron/I am surprised no one else has ran into this... probably because we got the early bird deal. Looking closely at the bore it looks like there is some threading in it, so we may try an 8-32 to see if that will work before tapping it. Update: It turns out the units that were shipped during the kickstart used a different dust shoe part from Kent's CNC. This is probably using an m4 or m5. I'll have to test and see which it is.

It's an m4 and probably around a tad more than an inch in depth, with about two or three turns of threading. If I had to guess I am probably the last person to finally get the early bird CNC machine ready for use and support thought I had the newer boot. Thanks Bruce for following up... I'm going to ask another question soon about the Mega V, hopefully I'll see you there.

Hey guys, I just wanted to say thank you to both of you. Even though I don't work for Millright, that dude who came in here talking about being ghosted by support and acting like he was entitled to receive a perfectly engineered piece of machinery and not the KIT that he had ordered and built himself, bugged the living shite out of me. It's good to see there's still fellas out there that remember not everything is perfect and the entire idea of DIY kits is to, <insert any foreign accent with a comic twist here>ehh, how do you say? Do It Yourself?</end comically altered foreign accent>. Keep on keepin' on mates, and even though I do not own anything more than an M3 and some Frankensteined (that's Frahnk en SHTEENed!), I try to help as best I can when I do arrive on the boards here and there.
