Maybe suspend the egg with rubber bands inside the box for extra precautions. But that's awesome! Good job.

I like it. By the way, you have the bug now. You start to frame every project in the context of "how can the CNC machine be used on this?"
Let us know how the drop goes.

That is awesome.. We did egg drops in middle school and it was my favorite project of the year. A friend of mine did the helium balloon thing and his landed safely, but like a half mile from the school! We all chased it, it was fun. Then there was another kid who just decided to see how big of a mess he could make on the sidewalk. His was like a 3'X3'X1' plexi glass box filed with jello and the egg suspended in the middle.. SPLAT! Good times indeed. Nice work on the box! +1 on the rubber bands. Mine was a pyramid made from straws, all open sides with the egg suspended by rubber bands in the middle of the pyramid.. all be damned, but the thing didn't break.. teacher even threw it against the wall...

Could also just line-x the egg. It will break but you'll never know lol.
