I had a very nice acquaintance allow us to borrow a piece of equipment for a while. He's one of those guys that's just too nice to take payment for it. I wanted to give him something so I made him something of a name plaque that he can sit on a bookshelf or something. This was made by the Carve King. It's 400x100mm and is Walnut. The burlap texture is awesome! Easy to do in ArtCAM. It's worth the $180 they want for it right now. I'm not in love with the only 3d tool path in ArtCAM standard, but you can do some awesome relief work, to include designing them.

Looks good. Just wondering how long did it take to complete with all that texture 😳 A while. I think my ignorance with ArtCAM (I just bought it) caused some problem with the finishing passes as it wanted to cut two passes of air at a 0.2mm stepover. I could have fixed it by deleting some code but I just let it go. The actual time spent engaged with the material was probably a couple hours.
