Hi, just got my new Power Route Plus assembled and calibrated, everything works great but I’m not too impressed with the UGS software, not a lot of control like I had with Mach 3 on my old machine. Seems to take me a lot more time to setup zero on my material, lots of clicking involved, manually changing steps every time I want to move it around, in Mach 3 I could just hold down arrow buttons on keyboard or use my rotary pendant to move axis. Have any of you found other software that has more control without manually changing step size and feed speeds? Unless I’m missing something in UGS I don’t see anywhere that you can simply clic on arrows, let go and machine stops, seems I have to enter a step size every time I want to move machine. Thanks!

It's been some time since I used the MR version of UGS downloaded from their Resource webpage, so I don't recall if the UI in that version allows continuous jogging moves. I use the latest version of UGS from github, V2.0.12, which has a UI supporting continuous jogging by holding down the jog arrow keys, which appears to be what you're looking for. This latest version of UGS also supports rotary axis now, the lack of said support being the reason MR had modified/created their version of UGS a couple years ago when Mega V was first shipped (as I recall). winder.github.io/ugs_website/I also like the UGS feature which allows for create and recall of macros. Note that some macros rely on WCS registers to be set correctly with XYZ coordinates: G30, G28, G57, G58, G59 Macro names are self documenting.
As for pendant use, UGS V2+ allows at least two flavors: any pendant with a web interface, including your smart phone; and any pendant hardwired or bluetooth to your computer running UGS, this includes an XBox controller or the like.
