Cutting Purple Heart has been the one task I have not been able to accomplish on my Carve King 2. It seems that no matter how I set up the CK2 the machine will inevitably destroy the part. Does anyone have any suggestions on proper settings for cutting PH?

Purple Heart is one of the harder woods available. Basically you want to make sure your tool bit is sharp. And then try slowing the cut speed and/or make shallower cuts with each pass.

I agree with Bruce. I built a drum using Bloodwood. Very hard janka 2900. Reduce feed speed. Reduce the amount of depth for each pass you make. You should do well.
