Finally got my Mega V XL put together, set up and calibrated. I got the easel driver installed on 2 different computers one being a MacBook and the other being a Windows 10 desktop and have had the same issue with both, when I go to add my machine the platform says its searching or trying to connect to grbl and it just sits there. has anyone had this issue? should I use another platform than easel? it's very frustrating the lack of tutorials mill right offers.... for such an expensive tool you'd think they would provide a tutorial service.

I can't speak to anything specific to Easel because I don't use the product, but in terms of USB connecting to my Mega V through both UGS and LightBurn, they both usually require a connection retry, UGS being more consistent and successful than LB. So that experience, plus your's, plus others I've read about, seems to point to something finicky about the MR grbl controller during USB connection. I looked into it a while ago and traced it back to the USB profile in Windows Device Manager, somewhere in that device profile menu there is a baud rate setting, and both of my Windows computers had a default value other than 115,200 which is what grbl is expecting. After changing this default to 115,200 baud rate the connection attempts fell into a consistent pattern as described above; first try fails, second try works. By "try", I mean I'm clicking/toggling the connection button in the software, not plugging/unplugging the cable. I don't fully understand why, but as long as that behavior is consistent I'm happy. In fact UGS being the most consistent with this behavior, I now first connect UGS, then disconnect and close it, before even launching and attempting to connect LB when doing laser jobs.
Net: check the default baud rate on your USB comms port in both computers, set it to 115,200.
