Any advice on drilling 1/8 inch holes with a drill bit rather than routing with at 1/16 bit? Been trying to figure out how to do that but not having any luck so far.

The issue is speed. The drills need some slower speeds than your DWP611 (or any will provide). I sometimes peck drill when I want a hole the size of my end mill. Use a center cutting end mill and run a peck drilling routine (fusion 360 has peck drilling) to test your results. Make sure you are using an upcut end mill if you do this. You could try a screw machine length drill bit and also use a peck routine with some short, quick plunges. I think you'll wear them out quickly, but it's worth a shot. You can get screw machine length bits from a place like shars for about 1.25 a piece if you'll order a dozen at at time.

I usually just mill the holes. If I could go down to say, 500 RPM, I may drill but that's only of there were a hundred holes to make lol. Peck drilling with a mill the correct diameter is just as fast as drilling. Besides, using the same mill for as many ops as possible saved time with tool changes.

Thanks guys. Will stick with milling.
Don't LOL aforww there are over 180 holes in some of the cribbage boards I make. Was just thinking it might speed things up.
I believe I have two issues I need to solve.
First my mill is not quite long enough for the holes I am milling. Will order some that should work.
Second I don't currently have an application with pecking capability that I am aware of. I currently use Corel Draw, Inkscape and Easel. Maybe I just haven't found the right process or need to drop the cash on more software.

Don't spend money on that. Fusion 360 is 100% free to hobbyists.

Thanks, I will look into that. Since I am using it to create items I sell I may not technically qualify but will look at their licensing. I could make the argument that it is a hobby since I have not yet had high enough volume or become profitable. Being in the software industry I am sensitive to license considerations though.

They also have a small biz license for free as long as you make less than 100k/year.

Good to know. Wish I didn't qualify for that.
