I purchased a second hand Carve King 2. It was fully assembled, but barely used. The previous owner only made a few test cuts. Looking at the machine and bits that came with it, it is obvious there was little, or no time logged on this machine.
So, I got it up and running, made a bunch or carves. I started out with Easel and graduated to Vetric Vcarve Desktop. As I get into more advanced or more technical carves, I am finding that the machine is not "square", for lack of a better word. I have done a few v-carve signs and I am noticing some misalignment is the cuts relevant to the Z axis.
I have probed the bed in various locations, I have found that the base is not flat. For instance, if I probe in the upper left call that 0, then probe the other corners and midpoints.

I am on ~1/64 inch, pretty good if I am using my table saw or hand plane, not so much for a CNC machine. Or am I expecting too much from this entry level CNC?
I have read through the assembly manual and verified all connections. The manual does not say much about adjustments or fine tuning. I have searched the internet and not found any relevant guides. Is there a resource for tuning the carve king?
I have also tried to tram the machine, anther internet search. What I found is that the spindle is off about 1-2 degrees (tilted to the right).
My questions are:
Do I have unrealistic expectations for the precision of this machine?
Is there a guide to help me dial it in with in its limits?
Thanks for any help that you can give me.
