Not sure if any of you are into cutting via grey scale depth maps, but found something the other day that might be helpful in your search for suitable images.. I've been playing with them a little along with dmap2gcode and have had promising results, although haven't had much time lately.. anyway.
浮雕灰度图 roughly translates to "embossed grey scale" in Chinese.
Do a Google image search with 浮雕灰度图 and it comes up with pages upon pages of image results..

I just search Grayscale 3D Depth Map. once you look through all the ones on one page, pick a picture and click related images... Down the rabbit hole you go. lol.

Another way to do it for sure if you have time to sort out the junk, but yeah. Just the best results i've seen minus the garbage..
Guess this post can be deleted then, got it all figured out, no tips 'n tricks needed..

I think its cool. I'm really surprised that this works. I guess the grey scale thing is big in China, lol. I'm curious how you figured this one out.

Ran across mention of it in another forum the other day. Was surprised at how many results came up without the clutter of other stuff mixed in. Guessing it would work in other languages too if you could figure out the term to translate..
