I hope you guys don't get bored of me posting some of my work but I am lost dreaming up things in the CNC world hehe! This time around I was racking my brain deciding what to get my sister for her 40th birthday (trust me she has everything)...then it hit me with a bit DUH!!!! I AM MAN, I HAVE CARVE KING! (ok corny) My sister, since she was 2, was into Wonder Woman (to this day she dresses up as Wonder Woman for Halloween) so I dreamed up a nice sign with the logo and her name. I used 3mm aluminum for the inlay into poplar wood stained with red mahogany plus ebony stain for the frame. Turned out better than I thought. Cheers!

That is really good work. The aluminum contrasts very nicely with the wood.

Oh man that's great. I've never thought about inlaying aluminum into wood before now. Kevin was right, that gives a great contrast. IF your sis doesn't love it, I'll hang it in my house.

That is exactly why I'm moving to a bigger machine. I've always wanted to do a mesquite table top with brass or copper inlay.

just out off curiosity what did you use to stick them together or are they a tight fit

The fit is tight (knocked in with a rubber mallet) but at the same time I also glued it down with epoxy. Then belt sanded it and applied stain and linseed oil.
Cheers!
