I have tried all kinds of designs over the past year or so to come up with a wooden hinge for boxes that I make. None have been completely satisfactory and many require way too much time. M3 to the rescue.

Here are the gcode files for them. For some reason I can't get the lineup right on the rails yet. Looks perfect in easel but comes out 1/8 off on one of them. The line up of the channels is right so I just trim the ends to make them lineup. I also find 1/4 inch dowels fit tight so I just chuck it up in drill and sand them down to fit. Made some adjustments. Shortened the hinge to 9 inches in length and they cut fine. Might have been a little too long for the M3. Also added a bevel on the back side so they fit nicer in the channels. Will post the gcodes in the next post.

Attached are updated gcode files for the wooden hinges. I made the tabs on the hinge parts smaller to make it easier to separate them. I also made the grooves in the plates a little shallower so the hinges operate better once assembled. I will be adding some photos of the finished product in another post. Also attaching some instructions I wrote up of the process I use to create these.

I think you have mastered the art of hinges.
It's a great idea that they can be put together and work, but all the parts only need to be machined on 1 side.
