Any reason why dmap2gcode is considerably slower at letters than say easel? I was going to do a logo on the left side but it took the 30 minutes of code and bumped it to 5 hours.... Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I will say, this learning is fun and frustrating ha.

However, I wouldn't think that's something Dmap2code is geared towards so maybe it's just not optimized for it?

Did you have the depth color set correctly for your graphic in Dmap? You can choose between black being depth or white being depth. maybe you had it set backwards and it was trying to cut all the stock around the logo so it would pop out instead of cutting inside the logo so it's inset?

I'd like to clarify.... did it take 5 hours to run the sign on the machine or 5 hours to generate the g code? If it took 5 hours to run then the feed rates were just far too slow.

5 hours to run on the machine. I will adjust the feed rates and hopefully that will change it.

Now that I think about it more this is the wrong software for the job. Dmap2gcode will always go back and forth at the programmed step over, It is made to cut reliefs, not this. Increasing feed will help but it will always use the strategy of passing over the entire region with the programmed step over.
Fusion 360 would be better for this if you use the pocket operation.
Hope that helps.
