I'm assembling the Carve King with the spindle kit. Where should I find the two spindle mounting pieces? As far as I can tell I don't have them although I have the spindle and the correct z-plate.

Which two pieces do you mean? There is one mount. Is the mount checked off on the spindle setup instructions materials list?

Which two pieces do you mean? There is one mount. Is the mount checked off on the spindle setup instructions materials list? I'm answering from work so I might have to correct things when I get home. I do not remember seeing any spindle setup instructions with or without a materials list. I'm using the assembly instructions from the resources portion of the website. On page 8 of the pdf a spindle mount is described as mounting on the Z plate using both sets of holes. The picture shows a roughly rectangular aluminum plate with a hole for the spindle and a slot on one side to allow it to clamp the spindle when tightened down. I can not find this mount. When I unpacked the kit I thought that it would be with the other Al plates or with the spindle. The spindle was wrapped individually. The bag containing the other flat aluminum pieces (Z plate and so forth) does not seem to have the mount. None of the other bags are labeled as the spindle mount and most of the bubble wrapped bundles are clearly not the mount. Should there be a bag or wrapped parcel labeled spindle mount or similar?

BTW, sorry for the confusion if there is only one spindle mount. Given that it takes up both rows of holes I figured it might be two clamping plates with only one visible in the photo.

It's SOP to have the instructions in there so please let me know if you don't have it. I have attached an electronic version here for your reference. My inventory on mounts is in balance, but do please let us know if you don't have it. Spindle setup instructions v1p01.pdf (658.31 KB)

I won't be able to check for another couple of hours but I think I might know what is going on.
I suspect that the the mounting piece and its bolts are either in the white cardboard box or the bubble wrap that I haven't opened. They looked like just power supply parts so I wanted to leave them nicely packed up until I got to assembling that portion.

Bingo. It was in an unlabeled bunch of bubble wrap. Nicely protected too in that it didn't look like a big Al piece so I'd placed it with the bubble wrapped electronics.

Thanks, I feel the same way.
Other than the one unmarked bubble wrapped bundle I love how organized and labeled the pieces are in the kit. I need to sit down and put in a couple of hours straight but so far it has been painless fun of doing 30 minutes or an hour a night before I get distracted by one of my other hobbies (or work).
