Has anyone upgraded their PowerRoute to a 1.5/2.2kw VFD spindle? Kits can be had from a few places, or I could try my luck with buying pieces from Amazon, but I'm wondering if the upgrade is actually feasible. I'm frustrated mostly with just how loud the Dewalt 618 router is (but I *really* love how much more powerful it is that the 611 ) -Kev

Yes. We've put then on some custom built (4x4) Power Routes before.
They worked well.

So is there going to be a VFD option coming soon, Derek? And a 4x4 Power Route you say? There are decent systems on Amazon. You need to be careful of the VFD maker. I bought a Huanyang VFD and has worked great for me. There are some knock offs out there you have to be care full of.

It wasn't an option. The spindles we installed were part of some custom builds that were part of a contract we were given. As to sources: we do want to offer it in the near future so we can't reveal that info.
