Hello everyone,
Just got my kit and began the checklist of parts in the kit. im missing a plastic v-roller and both chrome linear rods. Has anyone else been ‘short-shipped’? And I’d so, did the company make good?
i sent them an e-mail about it, so I guess I just wait?
I cant wait to get started. All my woodworking friends are really curious about how this kit works because they can’t believe that this is for real for the price. Can’t wait to prove them wrong.

DickieB Didn't have that exact problem but I can tell you Derek and crew are very responsive to resolve issues.

Haha lmao! Whew, that’s funny. Ok, I’m a computer challenged engineer, sorry for that. I use Inventor, Solidworks, Fluid flow, FEA, all that stuff, but I don’t have a clue how it works inside. The only computer I have is a 2005 laptop dell. It does what I need... until now. I just use it for pictures and such. At my age, who cares. Heck, I’m still on dialup. Have an aol account, and if I need the internet, I have to use my hotshot on my iPhone! But hey, it works for a simple guy. I got a 2 axis laser burner a couple of years ago and it works great. All I had to do was put it together, plug it in and it worked great. I import pics and burn the image right into the wood. I certainly didn’t think that this would be much more difficult. Does the M3 work with Vista? Or do I have to take my laptop to the Geek Squad guy?

Sometimes it is surprising what will run in older environments like that. Not sure you will have much luck with some of the apps for design though.

Hey man, I understand and agree with you 100% 😀 No use reinventing the wheel when what you got does the job. But you may have to jigger with it to get get the software working.

I figured out how to run a backup on my laptop so I could dump vista and download Windows 10. There’s a site that gives stepbystep. After I get that done, I’ll connect the arguing back up to the laptop and see if that works. If it does, I’ll report back and y’all can help me figure how to load easel, which seems what most like.
I still have to figure out how to do the homing switches and adjust the pots. I do dig it though. Pretty cool stuff. Man, I’m so itching to get this baby running.

Good luck with the Win10 upgrade from Vista. Can you post that site link for step by step to upgrade to Win10. Might be helpful to somebody else since support for Win7 is over this year too.

Don’t believe all the sites that say “ get the upgrade free”. NOTHING IS FREE. I had so much trouble trying to upgrade to w10. Every site wanted to do an ISO type upgrade. I didn’t want that. I wanted w10 home version and that cost $130. I also needed to add ram, so after all was said and done, I would be out around $200. So, I went to Best Buy and got a new laptop with everything I needed to run my M3 for $229. I runs so fast and is twice the laptop I had. So, I’ll use my old laptop to tun my laser engraver and my new laptop to run my M3. Hopefully, when I connect the Arduino to it, the drivers will load. We’ll see.
Sorry I couldn’t talk you through it, but I’m old and have disposable income. This made sense for me. Now, do I now need Easel to do projects?

You could use Easel (though don't connect directly to the machine with it or it will overwrite your settings) or you could use Fusion 360.

Derek,
Is the software supposed to automatically load when I put the usb into my computer? When I do, nothing happens. Should I see a message saying the software loaded? I’m using my brand new laptop I bought for this. It has Windows 10, 4 meg ram and Tera drive, whatever all that means, but I think it’s capable for the M3. Sorry I ask so many questions, but I like to ask before I make a mistake trying something and end up regretting it.

Well, I finally downloaded Java 8. And low and behold, “ It’s ALIVE!”. Movement in all 3 axes works in jog mode and each axis is the axis it’s supposed to be. Can somebody point me to the instruction for the homing switches? I didn’t see any instructions in the M3 assembly instructions. I have them wired and plugged in according to how the Black T-shirt man said to do it, but don’t know what to do now.
