I am using the MillRight m3. I am on easel doing projects And have everything figured to work and have made a Few cool projects. The only issue is no matter where I slide the Depth gauge it always cuts way deeper than I want. Usually about 3/4 through my material. Any way to make it to where I can set the Depth on that slide and it actually cuts to that depth? Thanks

I haven't used Easel in quite a while but wonder if you are getting confusion between the file and the machine on being in sync on inches vs mm.

Any way to fix it or look at to see? Actually when I think more about it that is not likely an issue or you would be experiencing more than just a depth issue. It kind of sounds like possibly something with how the work zero is getting set on the M3. I never experienced that issue myself. I poked around in Easel a bit and nothing obvious jumps out at me. Maybe it will help if you describe your process from creation to getting the gcode to the M3 and setting up the machine to do the cut. Sorry I can't be more help but maybe someone else here will be.

If you ever let Easel connect directly to the machine it has reconfigured your settings. Post the settings here. Type $$ in the command line(of UGS or similar) and hit enter to see them.

I would bet Derek has the correct answer, he is the Obi-wan after all. I never connected Easel to my machine. I used the download gcode option. You get to that on the Machine tab by clicking on Advanced. There is a button there to download the gcode and you then open that file in UGS. Attachments:

I HAVE IT NOW TO WHERE IT CUTS IT CORRECTLY INSTAED OF BACKWARDS BUT THE DEPTH SEETING IS ALWAYS TO DEEP. NO MATTER WHERE I SET THE SLIDE DEPTH ON EASEL IT ALWAYS GOES TO DEEP. I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL TIMES ON FUSION 360 BUT CANT FIGURE IT OUT OR UNDERSTAND HOW TO USE IT AND SEND IT TO UGCS TO CUT OUT OR CARVE WHAT I WANT. EASEL HAS WORKED FOR WHAT I NEEDED SO FAR BUT DONT NEED TO CUT EVERYTHING SO DEEP AND I CANT USE A V BIT SINCE IT GOES SO DEEP.

Are you using Easel to send the info to the machine or saving a gcode file and using that in UGS?

Using easel to send to the machine. As Derek said that can cause the settings in the machine to get set wrong. You need to download the gcode as I showed in a previous post and load it in the UGS application for processing. I am guessing you also need to fix the machine settings that are out of wack. Will leave that do Derek to council you on as I have never touched those myself. I used Easel for quite a while when I first started with CNC and didn't experience any issues but was warned out of the gate not to send directly from Easel. Hope you get this all worked out soon and start having some fun with the machine.

The machine settings are in the last page of the Carve King assembly manual, but I don't see it in the M3 manual.

Easel has overwritten your settings. It’s going too deep because the steps per mm are grossly incorrect now.
I’ll have to get this info from the office and post it for you in the next day or so.

I had that issue a while back. I found that I had set up a really deep cut setting in the CUSTOM settings tab on Easel. I changed the custom settings to match the Recommended settings and everything ran fine after that. You may have already checked but it was a simple oversight on my part, playing with different cut settings to try and get faster simulations. hope this makes sense/helps.
