Is there any chance of updating the www.millrightcnc.info to have a choice of metric or imperial units? The app currently provides feeds in mm/minute, but the standard appears to be either mm/sec or inches/minute, at least in Vectric software. Mm/minute is kind of an oddball unit and needs to be converted whether you are using metric or imperial units.

It would be nice to calculate 1 inch diameter facing bits too.

I just realized that if you click the Settings button (the small gear in the upper right hand corner) from the millrightcnc.info page, you can select your machine (M3 or Carve King) and also select your units (mm or inches). When I select inches and then go to the feedrate calculator page, I now get feedrates in inches/minute (great!). It would still be nice to get metric feedrates in mm/sec instead of mm/minute to match typical CAM software units, however.

My apologies fellow CNC'erss. Idiot me allowed my Apple Developer Status lapse and Apple removes your app from the app store if your 'dues" are not current. I have just renewed my Developer status and iTunes should have the app back up within day or so. Once again, My humble apologies.

To all who care, especially you Derek; New beta calculator is up at millrightcnc.info/. Now includes Power Route. Some very slight design changes to make it slightly easier to use for newbies (ie. choosing inches or mm and which machine you are using) Tried to clean up a few design issues which will only become apparent once the app is updated. Please check it out and get back to me with any changes. Thanks,

My Power Route is on its way (soon, hopefully), and I've been playing around with your calculator to get a feel of things. One quick question: what is the unit for chip load/tooth? It doesn't appear to change when you toggle between in and mm in the new settings, though looking at some tooling supplier recommendations, it seems like it must be mm. Any clarification would be appreciated. =)

Thanks to Jody for the continued work on this.
I am looking at the chipload stuff tonight. I do think it’s stuck in mm.

Thank you for the update! Really appreciate all the work you put into it. I have two recommendations. Would it be possible to have what machine you selected be displayed on the feedrate calculator page, I switch between machines quite often and it would be an easy verification that the right machine is selected? And the other is that the value field for the RPM is to short, It can only display 3 digits, maybe just extend it out so all 5 can be read? Again, thank you for the calculator it is an invaluable tool for many users!

I am confused by that calculator. Why does RPM start at high number, go right it goes up, then goes down to really low on right. And I don't see correct rpm's, all of them are too slow, looking for 10,000 to 20,000 rpm.

JoeBob, Love the suggestion for showing the machine on the FR Calc page. I’ll look into it. As for the RPM field being too short, I don’t see this. I have looked at it on my phone (iPhone), iPad, and on the web in Chrome and Safari. What are you using that is only showing 3 spaces? Is anyone one else experiencing this?
